• The council kennels now really needs new fencing of a more sturdy kind, as at night children have cut through the weak mesh fencing to gain access to the council kennels to steal the dogs or pups. 

These are then dumped on the streets when the novelty has worn off and we have also seen some appalling acts of cruelty (as seen in this photo). 

 

This poor pup was one of 5 who were stolen from the kennels and had their tails and ears hacked off and were then left in the council yard.

• We also need some kind of shade area in the free-run pen as this cannot be used for about 4 months of the year due to the searing sun.

Some dogs are too frightened to walk on a collar and lead and so we put them in the free-run pen to get some exercise etc

 

It's also the ideal place for Mums who do not wish to go far from their pups.

• The tick spray that is presently used is very cheap and ineffective for more than a week; we would love to be able to afford Spot-on or Frontline to de-flea and de-tick the dogs properly and which is effective for 6-8 weeks!
